Hi, as a guitar teacher I don't think you can hire me for 40 hrs per week, even at 6$ per hr. If your student needs a question asked throughout the week there is no problem, I check my email often. He can upload songs as attachments as he needs, or contact by Skype or video at arranged times. The library I have for guitar instruction specific to guitar is over 2 TB at all levels, and in all styles. The student will have access to whatever he desires. When one speaks of music theory, it doesn't change-- what is taught on a piano is taught on a guitar or a flute. So I teach Western Tonal Theory which is what music theory is. If he wants jazz or country or rock n' roll-- even better. Almost all of my students are still playing guitar, and many have performed publicly and have recorded albums. As we learn guitar, we also teach aspects of music such as playing with others, use of DAW (digital audio workstations) and the computer, how to use an amplifier and what are the differences, which stomp boxes do what, and what does a person really need for what type of music. Which artists should one listen to in order to improve which skills. How to improvise, transcribe, transpose, modulate, and compose. Pretty much everything. If you need a book that you are not required to pay a monthly fee, I suggest "For The Advancing Guitarist" by Mick Goodrick, "the Guitar Handbook," the videos "Blues You Can Use", and these allow better capability to play with others. Have a nice day.
