Hello, thank you for considering bidding on our project.

All details below, if you have any questions/suggestions - please PM! Thanks!

Only design work (NO coding required). Site for small window repair service. We want it to look modern, fresh, positive. We do have logo already (attached). Fixed-width layout. 1 homepage + 1 inner page + set of standard styles for text content (2 headers, link, table, form).

Site will be in Russian, but Russian will be only in text. All texts that matter for design have to be in Russian in design already (like main menu options), but I believe this should not be a problem. I'm giving English translations for them to help to get an idea of what's all about.

I. Page elements common for home and inner pages:

- Standard tiny icons "home" (for the link to homepage), "envelope" (for link to contact page)

- Phone number - must be easy to find, with comment "Бесплатно с городских номеров" (Free from stationary numbers).

- Search form - can be very simple, i.e. field + button. Can be placed differently on home and inner page if design dictates so.

II. Inner page

1) Logo - version with white letters (logo designer provided us with two versions, one with plain white letters and another with "reflection effect", but he advised us against effect - as it won't let logo to stand out - except for the homepage, where logo will be bigger and more of a decorative element).

2) Services menu:

Ремонт окон (Window repair)

Замена стеклопакетов (Glass-units replacement)

Отделка балконов и лоджий (balcony/loggias glazing/finishing)

Стеклопакет с отверстием (glass unit with hole (for conditioner)

Жалюзи - изготовление, установка (Jalousie - manufacturing, installation)

Изготовление стеклопакетов - (Glass units manufacturing)

3) Breadcrumbs (standard navigation element, which shows where you are on the site at the moment, like: Главная / Ремонт окон / Ремонт деревянных окон (Home / Window repair / Wood window repair)

4) Caption of the current page, e.g. Ремонт деревянных окон (Wood window repair)

5) Content area

On majority of inner pages standard content - paragraphs of texts with images - will go right away. But there will be a number of inner pages (those linked directly from Services menu) which will have, as first part of content area, a group of blocks (I envision one under another, although not 100% sure) which need to grasp visitor's attention first. Each will have title (in big letters) that denotes some problem with window, e.g. "draft" / "window doesn't close properly", "tilt-and-turn window only turns but doesn't tilt" etc. - i.e. problems that lead visitors to this web-page. Next to problem title (on the right probably?) a short summary of information most interesting to average visitor regarding the fixing of this problem:

- the name of relevant repair procedure (not every time) or some other title - couple of words to couple of lines, possibly with link "Read more..." leading to the page with procedure description;

- price range;

- approximate total time (from phone call till the work is finished);

- approximate time of on-site work ("inconvenience" time);

- hours / weekdays when service is available

these ranges will be often provided with *'s or other type of footnote-indexes (e.g. numbers) referencing to the respective paragraph of text below - with detailed explanation what the exact price and time may depend on.

The scheme of such blocks group is in [url removed, login to view]

6) Secondary menu (Can be vertical on the right?):

Контакты (Contact)

Карта сайта (Site map)

Статьи (Articles)

Новости (News)

Цены (Pricelist)

... (may be some more)

7) Block with announces of several relevant news/articles in format - title/date/beginning-of-text for each. (Another vertical block on the right?)

8) Footer:

1. Little menu, options of which will mostly repeat some of those from menus above.

2. 2-3 counter buttons (just use dummy 88x31 image(s) for design)

3. Copyright message - (c)Mr Stekloff 2012 + some statement on unauthorized usage of material from the site.

III. Home page

1) Logo - big (you might advise how big exactly), version with glass/wave effect, can be more like inscribed as design element somewhere in the middle of the page (unlike the inner page, where it must be clearly the logo (smaller and, for example - in header).

2) A number of blocks similar (information-wise, but can be different design-wise) to those described in II.5 with links like "more" leading to related inner pages. This can be formatted as a kind of big non-standard menu - all depends on your design idea.

3) Secondary menu (similar to the one on inner page).

4) Recent news/articles block (similar to the one on inner page).

5) Some area with free text content (i.e. short welcome/about message).

6) footer - same as on inner page

IV. Styles for use in content across the site

Beside the regular text, we need following standard styles to be defined (through samples in PSD?) by designer for us to use across the site (so that we won't have to introduce our own amateur styling, thus ruining the design):

1) style for two different headers that we can use in text (h2 / h3).

2) style (color?) for links within the text

3) table (text color/background color/border color/padding for regular row and for heading row)

4) we'll often have images within the text, please take this into account - if you think image straight within the background of content area will be bad, create/define standard border/frame we should use; it can be very simple, depending on your design - just take into account there will be images in text content

5) some images will be clickable (like here: [url removed, login to view] - small images on the right) so style needs to be defined for this box that appears. Something as simple as rectangle will close button will work - we just want to be sure no layout elements on site created without designer's supervision.

6) style for the forms - we'll have probably only one form - on Contact page. A sample would help us to avoid using wrong margins, font size / color / placement for labels or style of the button etc by which we could damage the design if had to decide on our own. Again, we don't request anything special, but need designer to ensure such things as that either standard button style matches his design, or specific button style is defined if required

7) On the page of particular article, page caption obviously will be the title of the article, but we also need to place the date of the article somewhere in (or under?) caption - would look not nice if just everything (title and date) in single style, or if date is same style as article content, so need your help to format it properly.

V. Few uncertain points in this plan where we need your designer's input already:

1) Most of the Services menu options logically have subpages, for example, glass-units replacement can be: regular, of jumbo glass units, or replacement of glass units on height with help of industrial climbers - and so on. It would be logical to have menu with sub-options. We, however, don't like and don't want on-mouse-over popup submenus, thinking they are not user-friendly for many people. The only alternative to them we could figure out is vertical menu - it would allow for any number of sub-options and to have all "sections" open. If you create design where options are easy to distinguish from sub-options that go under each of them - it could work like this. But first things we want visitor to notice on the page are those blocks about problems with price/time info (II.5), and we are concerned if his attention can be diverted with left menu and abundance of options in it. If it's possible to design layout in which there will be this long menu but same time focus will be kept on that blocks group in content area - that would be perfect. If not - we're better off with short horizontal menu above, and links to subpages we will place elsewhere, or may be another solution you may suggest.

2) We are not sure if the colors of the logo at the moment are perfect - if you'll want to alter them to make the site look best according to your design idea, you are welcome to try. Logo designer tells it should be easy to change colors in source file.

Above specification is not final - but there will be nothing unexpected - we may just toss around some already described things according to your input, or revise exact options in Service menu - and we'll finalize all this very quickly upon getting it.

Thank you for your time!
