We are looking for someone who knows how to take a project from start to finish. This project will be based on a single board embedded PC using and LCD touch screen. The developer will be responsible for choosing the OS (Linux) and writing the GUI and application that will reside on the device. The application will be need to interface to a USB camera, Fingerprint scanner, smartcard reader, LCD touch screen, and audio device for speaker and microphone.
This device is going to be used for several applications such as Time and attendance clock, Door access reader, and intercom system all in one.
The application will have a local dbase of users, pictures, fingerprint biometric and access rights that determine who is allowed access through the portal. Once identity is verified by either a PIN, smartcard, biometric or any combination it will show the user’s picture, any pertinent information such as who he is to see or what project they are on for the day and also record that transaction in a relational dbase including a snap shot from the camera during the validation. It will also be required that the user is able to specify what they are doing during the transaction, gaining access to the door, clocking in, clocking out starting a defined project, finishing a defined project, logging in as a visitor, etc.
The device should use a Web interface to be configured remotely. This same web interface should also be used to control and respond to events at all devices. All devices will retain their local dbase transactions and then post them based on a schedule to a single server dbase. From this server it should be possible to add and delete users from groups of devices.
We are looking for someone or a team that is capable taking this project from start to finish. We will provide a more complete design and functional specification at a later date. We will also provide the hardware platform that this will be designed to run on at a future date as well.
I know this is not a complete enough spec for a complete quote however I am looking at isolating those that are capable and interested in this and their best estimate of costs and time to complete. I will also expect to receive the full source code at the completion of the project. If all goes well it may be decided to keep the person on retainer as the product will undergo at least 2 or more updates a year.
This project is being funded as a proof of concept and will be marketed to determine market viability. If you have any questions please let me know.
