I wish to build a complete wordpress based fully functioning real estate website integrated with our proprietary database to load the property data (the original data comes via an MLS RETS feed). You’ll need to map the front end fields to the back end database fields for population. The site will be used to sell real estate.
But I also want it to be a customizable template for resale to many real estate agents, over and over, with each having their own URL, including venturing out to different cities and MLS systems.
I need somebody that is not only a wordpress expert, but has experience with MLS/IDX/RETS downloads and at connecting to our APIs to accomplish this.
The theme I am considering may well have some of this built into it, but you will need to evaluate it to determine how much additional work is needed to make all of the property data flows fully automatic and flawless. Our database already feeds this kind of data to a fully custom front end site, so most of the backend work already exists.

Additionally I have a proprietary “search bot”. Using our own database and system we can match any home on the site (in the MLS) to every other home for sale with very similar qualities. This is not the standard industry trash that simply matches a price range, size, bedroom count, and distance to present “similar” properties. Our search bot is patent pending and runs a series of sophisticated analyses to match emotionally triggering qualities of each home. The bot is meant to be a prominent feature on the front end.
You need to create a link that allows our system to run its analyses off site, then return the results back to the user’s screen. This is the major differentiating factor for the websites we provide to the agents.
I see the theme’s individual property details screen that I have chosen (following in this doc) has a list of “similar properties” toward the bottom. Perhaps it is easiest to replace the theme’s function and output with out own. Then when the user clicks the button to find similar properties they are already loaded at the bottom of the screen and the button just auto-scrolls to that point on the screen.
Additionally, when a user saves any property to their account we need our search bot system to seek out similar properties several times a day. Our backend system already does this but it then must automatically send out notifications and links to the user each time it discovers a matching property—and the agent whose site this is must be BCC. You just need to create the frontend user registration.
All of the other regular auto notification functions of the theme should also continue to operate as designed. The theme author also suggests that we can import all of the template presentation sample content, so if you do that perhaps that will assist me (a non-programmer) in experimenting with some of the layout once you have the essentials completed. Also 100% responsive design on every screen should be built in and is vital.
