Raw data to Excel with VBA - processing and formatting
Presented macro imports data from CSV file. I can also write macros which take data from standard text files or simply from Excel. Data is properly positioned and formatted in Excel worksheet. Page breaks are reset and then inserted by macro in correct positions, to make sure that tables aren't split between 2 pages when printed. As with every other automation I use the fastest methods and smart logic to process data. Whole operation lasts basically as much as it takes for VBA to open source file, even for huge data sets. Sometimes text files aren't structured too well or CSV files don't follow CSV specification, especially don't have strings containing delimiter within double quotes, but even with such files, usually I'm able to find a workaround based on data pattern and read the file properly.
