A service running in the background which screens and filters network packets contain chat messages which are sent to the server through WebSocket protocol. The filtering engine did its jobs by referring to a predefined rule-set, also asking third party public services for any general blocking patterns. There was also a limiting engine equipped to prevent users from overusing or exploiting the chat servers system.

This service is a multiprocessing program written in Python, utilizing libnetfilter_queue kernel shared library, iptables and running in Linux environment. It was able to serve up to 15K concurrent users at a same time.

Packet Filtering with Netfilter

Search for the same products as what you are providing or selling, do a comparison to find out which product is lowest in price. In order to accomplish this, the tool needs to access and login to your store (or e-commerce) website as well as connecting and being granted to "eBay API".

This tool was built with respect to the eBay "API Call Limits", their usage guidelines and site policies. It was completely written in Python, directly run from the Linux console (or command line) or triggered by a Linux crontab service. Its running progress was kept in log files for easily tracking and/or debugging.
