With 25 years of professional experience, I offer a unique blend of in-depth hands-on technical, management, and business expertise. I have honed and proven my abilities as a senior software consultant on dozens of complex software projects for leading commercial and government organizations. During these consulting engagements, I have served in a wide range of capacities including technical lead, systems architect, and team manager. I have personally authored software ranging from embedded real-time device drivers to neural networks. I have proven his ability to successfully create, develop, and maintain meaningful long-term business relationships built on the delivery of technical expertise in the most demanding of environments. I have been counted on to firefight trouble areas for clients and their customers. These activities have run the gambit from directing large scale 'swat-teams' intended to identify and correct mission-threatening problems, to rapidly implementing complex technical solutions, to facilitating the transfer of critical technologies between companies and/or business groups. I understand modern agile software development practices and the importance of transparency and documentation of every aspect of a project's life cycle. I apply Getting Things Done (GTD) methods along with KanBan style project management and am extremely organized. I am proficient in almost every modern operating system and platform, as well as languages from Ada to Zend. I am particularly strong in the various flavors of UNIX and the C/C++ languages.
