Yolanda has 10 years of experience in media, having working in radio, local news, cable, network and private industry. Yolanda's talent has taken her from positions at ABC News and ABC Radio to Washington, DC's NewsChannel 8 and WJLA, the Retirement Living Network (RLTV) and private production company WebsEdge. She began her career as a videotape librarian at ABC News, working with producers during the hotly contested presidential election of 2000. She then became a desk assistant at ABC Radio before transitioning to a writer position at NewsChannel 8, where she worked for 5 years on the Morning Rush Hour Report. Her next position would be as a segment producer for the RLTV, a start-up aimed at the 50+ audience. Yolanda produced on the financial programs, The Prudent Advisor and The Ric Edelman Show before moving to the daily, live broadcast Daily Cafe, a news and interest program. At Daily Cafe, Yolanda came up with segment ideas, booked guests, conducted research and wrote for the two-hour program. Most recently, Yolanda produced films for WebsEdge, a global broadcasting company that specializes in making 5-minute documentary style films for companies. These short films were later shown at national conferences as part of "conference TV" programming. Yolanda's friendly approach helps her connect with clients. She offers them a different approach to producing and filmmaking. Yolanda is a member of several business and service organizations, including Women In Film & Video, the National Association of Black Journalists and the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Yolanda also serves as the co-chair of a volunteer program that teaches high school students how to make public service announcements for local non-profit organizations in the Washington, DC area. Yolanda has a love for all things fashion, travel and gadgets which she's expressing by writing for blogs. Yolanda contributes content to various blogs, ranging from a pop culture/entertainment-focused blog (Witches' Brew) to her most recent client, the First Baptist Church of Sterling, VA, where she blogs, tweets and manages their Facebook "fan" page. Yolanda has proven expertise in social media, analytics and using new media sites like Facebook and Twitter to expand an online presence for her clients. Yolanda honed her craft at Syracuse University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Political Science. She's currently interested in blending the growing field of social media with film and other creative outlets.
