Copy-editing/proof-reading of around 55,000 - 60,000 words of text, over the course of a 12 week period. Text to be provided and returned in approximately 6–8 batches. Three stages required: (1) Markup of changes in Word; (2) Check once changes have been implemented; (3) Check of layouts. An extensive house style guide will be supplied, against which supplied text must be checked, as well as for sense, spelling and grammar. Will involve some discussion with the authors. After work is awarded, a test batch to be supplied and returned edited (for quality control purposes) before contract is agreed.
- First language must be British English.
- An interest/knowledge of railways an advantage, but not essential.
