I am trying to get an auction website going. I have open source software installed, however, it has bugs, one of which is that "buy it now" does not work properly. That is the main thing I need fixed but I haven't finished testing so there may be more that needs fixed. If you PM me I can send you the link to the site so you can see what it entails. The software is phpauction and it is an older version than the software that costs a lot more to buy - which is why i am just trying to go with this software if i can get the "buy it now" feature fixed. I dont need a fancy auction site, just something useable.

I have purchased Phpauction software, which works fine... but I am starting a site where someone that needs something translated from one language into another can post a reverse auction and when it is complete, the person who posted the auction will pay the lowest bidder of the project. The software is working fine as a normal auction site, but there needs to be a modification made so that the person placing the auction will pay the person who wins the auction after the job is done. The simplest way to do this I would think is to find where the variables are set for the buyer and the seller and switch them, but I have been unable to find where they are. We're using SugarCRM as our main application and all of these other applications:Open-Realty, PHPauction, Moodle, OpenX, Noahs Classifieds, Crafty Syntax Live Help, AccountLab Plus, Advanced Poll, LimeSurvey, phpESP. We need a login manager so the user doesn't have to keep logging in to each application every time the want to use it. One example may be something like google apps where they're all listed on a link manager page. And google uses gmail to link accounts and keep them logged in. Or even something more simple like a form filler that fills in the login and the user just clicks to accept and log in. Also open to other suggestions. I need code fixed in PHPauction GPL 2.51 Enhanced, please be confident with PHPauction. I need a couple more variables displayed on the index page. Currently i can only see an items current bid which is 0.00 until someone bids on the item. It should say the minimum bid or starting price instead of $0.00. What i want to see is the items starting price or minimum bid by default. If someone bids on the item it should change to the current bid. More info will be provided upon bidding, like the website info, and access to all the files you need. If you do not know PHPauction please do not bid. This should not be hard for someone who knows what they are doing.

I have a project (phpauction) that gets from mysql the data that i search. Until 10 minutes ago, the results could not display me correctly the Greek characters from mysql. The search system searches the title of the item which contains English and Greek characters. I solve this problem with this : I use notepad for any encoding i do between ansi, unicode and utf8. I wrote into notepad the title in English and for the Greek letters i wrote them in HTML encoded characters and i saved it as ANSI. On phpmyadmin I uploaded the file choosing utf8 for Character set of the file and ANSI for sql compatibility. i searched for that English word i wrote in the title and displayed to me the result WITH GREEK LETTERS correctly. The phpauction package is an auction package, not a shopping cart package. Phpauction may already has the paypal payment gateway built in which you may use to implement this section (as users must pay a fee for auctions, there is a payment function), however, you may implement your own shopping cart system if you deem it more effective. We have phpAuction installed on our website, which shares a database with our phpBB forum. I am looking to have the appropriate code written to pull approximately five to ten auctions/items for sale from the phpAuction part of our site into the phpBB forum. Currently we have a similar 'mod' installed on the phpBB for our PhotoPost Gallery. I am not sure if this can be copied or if a mod can be found at , or if this will be something that has to be created from scratch. For a site on a budget we need an adaptation of the phpauction 2.51 enhanced script (single seller version). The script is capable of calculating "seller fees". Since there is no use in charging a seller a fee if there is only one seller we're going to incorporate "buyers fees". The script needs to be tested, especially when it comes down to automatically generated emails. When an auction ends the winner of the auction is to be sent an email which states the winning bid + auction fee (which is a percentage of the winning bid) + 19% sales tax (which is calculated over the bid and auction fee combined).
