I need a package that is complient with the rules of HIPAA and HCFA-1500 paper bill is also needed to produced. FAQs about HIPAA can be found at _<[url removed, login to view]>_ (also look into HICFA forms from medicare).
I would like this to mostly be written in VB. And the database to be SQL or Access will work as long as it can do crystal reports. This software will be for medical billing and have sections to add medical codes with descriptions, patient information, insurance information, physician information, ability to run reports by date as well as by patient name or ss#, ICD-9code, and the ability to electronically send the billing information in a cycle to the insurance carriers (e.g. - Medicare, Blue Cross, AETNA, ect...) through modem connection and broadband. Insurance policy, insurance carriers, payment information must be collected to produce medical bill and query payment. This cannot be a clearinghouse. Needs to report and post payments received. There needs to be two versions of this software, one stand alone, and the other networkable (client server based). File encryption is a requirement of HIPAA, so this software must be compatible with Checkpoint FW-1, Checkpoint VPN, SSH Sentinal, and ipsec. I do require all of the source code for customization to keep my user department happy. Coder is expected to work on this from start to finish, even with the tesing.
