When we were approached by Say What Records to do a Music Video for, then up and comer, MegMafia we jumped at the opportunity. Not only was it a chance to work with a truly talented young lady and help her forge her path to success in the Music Industry but it was also an opportunity for us to flex our creative muscle. We created an original concept and blended visual effects with rich storytelling to deliver a Music Video that raised the bar. By using odd angles and framing to drive the piece, we were able to relate to the emotions of the song in a more compelling visual way. Our aim was to create something truly unique to watch compared to every other music video of the genre that you see on television so we took a different direction from the norm. The music video was playlisted by major music TV channels.

The first order of business was setting up a Photo-Shoot with actual Hip-hop Artists Saint Wizelle and Kid Nemo, who were just fresh of releasing their hit single “Would you be Mine” which had gained a lot of attention in the international Hip-hop scene. After negotiations they agreed to be a part of the project and offered to release their song for free in the form of a QR Code which we placed on the artwork. After a very successful photo shoot we spent several hours in creating the artwork with the idea of it being “youthful” and “fresh”. The Artwork we created was both extremely appealing and functional.

It was 7pm on a Friday Afternoon when Angela, the CEO of Soweto Group gave us a call stating that she was in desperate need of a Corporate Video as she would be presenting to major industry players the following day, it was an emergency but we were more than happy to assist. Due to the time constraints we weren't able to shoot in her offices, so we shot on green screen and added her into an office environment afterwards. After about an hour we had produced the script and went straight into shooting. A few takes and a night of editing later and we produced the final product complete with animated titles and background music.

We love working with DJ Khathu, he is a creative genius who is able to think on the spot and has gained over 35000 fans for the often hilarious videos he creates. We have worked with him on a few projects before helping to build his brand. MTN recently approached him because they had decided to give him a caller tune, making him the first comedian in South Africa to have his own caller tune. He approached us to create a series of Adverts to promote his caller tune. We knew from the beginning that it had to be funny, so we spent hours brainstorming with him. What we created is a high concept ad, that has elements of humor while being true to who he is. The concept of the ad is DJ Khathu being kidnapped by an alien Sangoma. It was a huge success and his fans loved it.

When we met with Local artist Mnqobi Duma for the first time to discuss his Music Video we knew from the start that he was an artist who truly respects his craft. His love of different cultures was very inspiring. Duma’s song Umsindo has a message to tell, it’s about how man’s love of money causes wars and violence and yet money comes from trees which support life. We created a high concept video based on the metaphor in the song, shooting mostly on green screen and putting Duma in a snowy forest scene which is a metaphor for the tree’s going through winter.
