Design of caustic recovery tank for bottle washer machine

An above ground steel sedimentation tank is designed as a caustic recovery system. The design is based on various codes and standards. It includes the design of the tank shell, roof and bottom. It also includes the design of leg supports, thermal insulation, and attachments such as stiffening ring, lifting lug, manholes, stairs, and design of piping attachments such as air vents, and tank cleaning nozzle.

A Review on Application of Biogeography-Based in Optimization Mechanical Engineering

Engineers are always keen to learn from nature. This motivates development of optimization techniques from mathematics of biogeography called as Biogeography-based optimization (BBO). This method can be very useful in some mechanical simulations as they are complex and computationally expensive. In this paper survey on the application of biogeography based optimization and its modified approaches in mechanical engineering has been provided.

Indian & Australian/NZ Standard for Design Wind Load on Tall Structures like Pressure Vessel & Tank

Wind load is one of the important loads influencing the design of a tall structure like pressure vessel and tank. Various major standards and codes has given the procedures and coefficients required for the calculation of wind load. This paper describes a comparison of wind load calculations for all structures like pressure vessel and tank between Indian standard IS 875 part 3 and Australia/New Zealand standard AS/NZ 1170 part 2according to their commonalities and differences.
