Wax Studios Story
Design and internet savvy, Bret Payne, owner of Wax Studios, knew he wanted to create web solutions
for business, seeing the flaws other business models had, and knowing modern marketing methods.
With encouragement from friends and colleagues, he started his second design firm. Taking inspiration
from his mentors at Art Center, was born a unique studio idea built on marketing ideas in a high impact
focus on media, founding Wax Studios in fall of 2005.
Wax Studios Inc, designs and creates Flash and Web 2.0 web designs, encompassing ecommerce, and
cutting edge graphics. We have been awarded leading design awards for Flash video sites like Mission Impossible III movie site. We currently have a development team of 3 full time programmers, web developers, and Bret Payne the Director of operations.
In the first 6 months of operations, we have been profitable, being awarded some 15 projects by clients
from many fields and business backgrounds. Our services are aligned with multiple listings services, search engine listings and web development boards. We are also active in community projects including social networking sites like Central Vibe, and Central Blog.
As we enter 2007, we expect to be able to market are services to a larger audience and hiring two more people to our growing staff, with experience in online marketing and new customer account development.
Currently we have 15 active accounts, which are recurring monthly fees, for maintenance agreements.
We hope to triple this by mid year, with marketing and promotion, both locally and focused on new business development.
We have come to a point that are name is recognized and we have turn away business, including projects already under consideration for development. If we were able to create a better contact management system, and open a better customer referral system, including marketing and promotion of new products.
In addition the development of new software and services will be rolled out early in 2007, needing a new marketing focus and business partnership.
Background:
Bret Payne graduated from University of California at Los Angeles with a degree in Business Administration
with a minor in Marketing. He went on to study computer design at Art Center of Design of Pasadena.
This is the perfect business for Bret to combine business with creativity. Bret’s focus on public relations and has created a very clever and strategic adverting campaign, taking advantage of free press and using his business knowledge to expand services.
Forecast and growth:
The reason for loan is to gain the needed capital to pay for marketing and new employee acquisition for future growth. Wax Studios is currently taking in new projects for early next year. Wax Studios needs capital to pay for marketing and new system development. At this point all marketing cost has been paid for on project profits.
With pre-subscriptions already arriving daily, Wax Studios has already reached its sales goals for spring 2007. With the addition of a planned take over of existing accounts from a network partner, who wants to?
consolidate accounts, and development of a different marketplace. This company will be a reaching its sales goals of over $250,000 in sales expected by 2008.
