The Ground Relay Unit (GRU) is a proprietary wireless communication system working on the 5.8GHz band with 10 directional antennas; it is used in onshore seismic exploration efforts. GRU collects the seismic data from each of the Motes that are communicating with it, in a TDMA-type protocol. The GRU then relays this data from GRU to GRU, back to the central recording system. The GRU is a full duplex transceiver.
