You've stated that you would like "a modern design" for a house, so I ask: Do you have sketches, drawings, layout ideas or space requirements you would like me to follow? or Will this be a virgin project and require a design from the ground up? If so is there: A budget? A plot of land for the project? Any council requirements I should be aware of? Next what level of detail will you require?
