Choose a person(Muhammad Ali ( the boxer- our topic)), place, organization or event to celebrate. The purpose of this speech is to move the audience with feeling about your topic. You are to pay tribute to your topic (express gratitude and appreciation for your topic)- use creative and dramatic language to ensure audience understanding. Look at Chapter 16 for more on special occasion speeches. You are to write a manuscript speech. That means word for word, typed. Have one copy for you to deliver from (14/16 pt font) and one for me at 12 pt. You need to enlarge the font size so you can easily pick up the text while speaking to us. Practice, practice, practice!!! We are looking for eye contact durng the speech, at least 70/30 for a goal. (70% on us) Read chapters 9, 11 and 12 and take Quiz 4 by Friday at 11:59PM AND STUDY for the final exam which we will take in class. This is our last class. The order will be commemorative speeches, final exam and then makeup speeches.. See you then!
