I am a tattooist and have a registered ABN. I have been working on and off since 2009 as a sub contractor and for myself. I have not filed a tax return since 2008. So I am looking to do 08/09, 09/10, 10/11, 11/12, 12/13 tax returns. I have made some PAYG but am not up to date. I have keep receipts and payslips so have plenty of documents. My situation is complicated thou because I have been registered as a business since 2003 but involving some of the years mentioned I did not trade due to illness. I guess I am just really overwhelmed and do not know where to start. I do not have alot of money due to illness but need to get these affairs sorted so I can close business and try to move forward. As long as you filed your personal taxes during those years that you did not run the business then you should be fine. You would have stated no business income at that time. You shouldn't have too much to keep track of, considering what type of business you run. However, there are many years to complete. I understand you are low on cash but I cannot bid lower than this, considering the workload. I do hope you contact me, if not, Cheers all the same, feel better!
