Weight Loss – Why are Fad Diets a Bad Idea?
Fad diets are becoming more and more popular, and it seems that there is a new one popping up every other week. While most of these have some benefits and might even give results for a few, they are mostly good marketing than good science.
For instance, the 3-day diet insists on eating just fruits for the specified 3 days which is then followed by meat, whole grains or vegetable on the subsequent days. There are many other fad diets that are variations of this.
While fruits do contain carbohydrates, fibers and vitamins that are necessary for our general good health, eating just fruits and nothing else for days together will definitely disrupt the balance of carbohydrates and other essential components needed to maintain a healthy body.
