Arduino Serial Packet Robustness

I'm reading 3 bytes at a time from a Javascript program to my arduino. I need to add a beginning and ending delimiter (""), parse the three bytes in between only if both are received, otherwise discard the packet fragment and clear the serial buffer so the packet looks like: or , then the three bytes between the delimiters are read by the arduino code and used in a case statement.
