Hello, Excel and VBA provide all the necessary tools to read the data in the exact format you want, so this is not a problem. All the steps you are describing can be fully automated via VBA, even the data transferring from the pivots to the reporting template, and of course this can be developed to handle the data dynamically, independently of the data set derived each time. I plan to complete the project via writing an Excel macro contained in a separate XLSM file. This approach makes further use of the macro very convenient by offering a Control sheet containing cells populated by the usual Open file and/or select folder dialogs to identify the current input and output files and hosting command buttons and other controls if necessary. In my approach you'll have opportunity to consult details with me, to test pilot solutions if necessary in order to achieve an optimal final solution. Further use of macros, fixing of bugs and minor changes are included in the bid without any additional fees. When considering the delivery time in my bid please take into account that job specification is not yet completed, and the design phase of a project comes out at a very significant percentage of the total completion time! In my current job, I have made a very similar tool. We get CSV files from our Business Information Warehousing portal. These are sales, closing stock and other parameters reports (each one on different reports). The macros that I have made automatically reads these reports, performs analysis (e.g. % acheived against target) and populates a set template which is then mailed across to the entire workforce. Your project is exactly similar and I'll be able to finish it off quickly.
