***Note: Only developers with good written communication skills will be considered for this project.*** We would like to create a Gift Card payment module for Uber Cart that is specifically designed to work with our gift card processing system. This will be a payment module that users can install to allow them to accept electronic gift cards for payment on the checkout screen. This is not the same as the built-in gift electronic certificate feature that comes with Uber Cart. The module will send transactions to our gateway to validate the available balance in much the same way that a credit card is authorized. We have an existing fully functional osCommerce module that does most of what the Uber Cart module will need to do. This may be very useful to you particularly in relation to the process of transmitting transactions to our gateway. Once installed, the new gift card module will need to support the following features and functions: (The OSC module does everything listed below except as noted.) [login to view URL] module should be accessible from the Admin panel so that the user can enter their merchant account information and settings. (4-6 fields.) [login to view URL] the gift card module will cause a “gift card” field to appear on the payment checkout screen so the user can enter the card number and click “apply”. [login to view URL] gift card module will determined the available balance on the card by sending a 'balance inquiry transaction' to our gift card gateway. [login to view URL] the balance on the card is greater than the total due on the checkout screen, the gift card module will send a transaction to the gateway to deduct the total due and the checkout process should proceed normally. [login to view URL] the balance on the card is less than the amount total due on the checkout screen, the gift card module will prepare to send a transaction to the gateway to deduct whatever amount is available on the gift card. The total due on the check out screen should now show the amount that the customer still owes. The customer can then use another payment method, or even another gift card to pay the remaining amount due. If the remaining balance is paid, the checkout process should proceed normally. [login to view URL] the customer cancels the transaction, the gift card, the gift card module will send a reversal transaction to the gateway to restore the gift card to it's previous balance. Note: The OSC module may have a bug at this stage where the remaining amount due is not getting updated in the shopping cart. We'll need to be sure that the Uber Cart gift card module does not have this bug. Of course, we also need you to supply and [login to view URL] file with the module that provides, clear, easily understood, step-by-step instructions on how to install the module. Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.
