Design brief was prepared to cover maximum scope within compact, low cost frame, user friendly features, and functions that would appeal card players’ psychology.
There were many challenges in mechanizing the process. Separating the cards made of coated paper/plastic which sometimes are sticky or slippery, sensing them while in motion, counting them precisely, and making the machine suitable for almost any card playing game, were the most critical tasks compelling me to evolve these innovative ideas. Various alternatives were prepared for each of these functions and those were improved step by step. Experts in appropriate fields of technology were consulted to obtain desired results.
During development stages regular card players and other knowledgeable persons were called upon) to impart their comments, feedbacks, and suggestions. In final working model many useful suggestions were incorporated. The basic machine was built as a universal model, for the use of groups of players, any commonly played card games at homes and club-houses. The machine works on rechargeable batteries, making it truly portable, giving about 6 hours playtime sans electric power. The power consumption while recharging is negligible. There is no adverse impact on environment either.
