Hello, My name is Keith and I am building a non-profit organization with a mission to increase the awareness of great opportunities in horticultural internships in the US and abroad. I have decided to begin with public gardens and to that end I have personally visited 18 gardens in 18 states to collect video interviews with intern coordinators and interns describing the programs. I have the encouragement of these gardens, as well as the American Public Garden Association, the Garden Club of America, and the American Society for Horticultural Science. As a recent graduate of the Horticulture department at North Carolina State University I have the backing of members of that institution, as well. With a strong sense of what I want to create to bring these and many future videos to the eyes of those it aims to serve I want to build a website which will function as a searchable database of profiles of public gardens. I need a homepage, a contact screen, an about us/ mission page, and a link-to page to direct visitors to other websites that can be of use in finding opportunity. Additionally I need to be able to add and take away profile pages and have a login capability such that members can alter their own information in the profiles. The goal of the website ([login to view URL]) is to be the common place for institutions of public horticulture (to begin) to advertise for their internship programs. The advertisements will be in the form of video interviews taken on the subject of internships. These videos will be uploaded to Youtube and imbedded in the profile screens. The database I am looking to build will be of particulars relevant to prospective interns to include: institution type location duration start and end dates housing pay Profile screens will include all the relevant information listed above, as well as contact information and a link to their own home pages. The industry is waiting on this site to be active. I have been looking for someone to build this for months, but have only made it as far as what may be seen at branchoutinternships.org.
