Adding a homepage to my HTML/Javascript/XML website store

I purchased a prebuilt website/shopping cart called jQuery XML Store from Codecanyon.net. There is a live demo site here: [login to view URL] Works great as a shopping cart/store, but it doesn't really have a 'home page' which I want. Two options I could think of were: a) Making a category called say 'Home' and make it the default category that shows when visiting the site. Then code just that 'Home' category not to have the normal look of squares on a page for the items, but just be one big empty HTML page that I can design/put in my own HTML to be my home page. b) Normally I would just make my own HTML home page, maybe have a link to one or two items on the shopping cart/store pages, but since the jQuery XML Store is Javascript, there are no direct links to products. When you click on a link, stuff is updated or pop'ed up in the same window without a unique URL. So I can't make a home page, and then have a link to go [login to view URL] Maybe you can think of another option and code it. Let me know what you think. I can get you my code. Not looking to spend more than $30 since this is just for a hobby project.
