backpropagation algorithm to train an artificial neural network

Hey Currently involved in machine intelligence and OCR research at IIT Bombay, using a variant of reinforcement learning. Have implemented multiple types of neural networks in past, including boltzmann machine and recurrent nets using C++ and cuda. Current senior CS undergrad. This should be done in less than 2 hours. Master Degree in Computer Engineering (area of concentration: Machine Learning), and large experience with Artificial Neural Networks and Matlab.

I have worked with ANN before. If awarded I can complete this project pretty fast.

Neural networks are a specialty of mine. In my work (modeling physical systems for a defense contractor) and in my spare time (as a machine learning enthusiast) I have implemented my own neural nets. My most recent project has been implementing an image classifier using caffe (c++ neural net framework) on an NVIDIA GPU cluster. Ultimately I would like to implement a spiking neural net on the GPU.
