I am an expert in chemistry and pharmaceuticals being a post graduate in chemistry. I have done genetics and biochemistry in graduation level. So I can understand medical related inventions effectively. I have worked for 12 years (industrial experience) in reputed pharmaceutical company Mylan in Hyderabad, India). So I am sure, I will draft the specification effectively. This project is related to surgical devices. - My plan would be to first understand the invention by having a call with inventor. Making notes on all aspects of the invention according to the inventor, what makes the invention appear novel to him. - Later a narrow search to find out if any close patents or literature exists in this art. Then followed by broad search if not able to find any close patents. - Then my strategy would be to find good template on the related medical devices patents, to understand how the granted patent claims have been drafted. This will give a first hand understanding of which claim language gets granted in medical devices field. - Finally writing the current patent application by drafting claims first. - Another call with inventor to discuss the drafted claims to confirm if we covered all the elements of invention. - Then building the entire specification based on claims.
