Nameplate Scanner Tablet App

We are a specialist engineering firm and have an existing app which is used for recording industrial equipment details and recording an inspection of that equipment. We would like to incorporate a facility to use the camera on a 7inch android tablet to obtain common equipment details such as serial numbers, IP rating, model numbers, manufacturer, etc. A full list of anticipated equipment details will be issued before the project is awarded. The project is to complete a standalone android app compatible with Cordova which might use an existing optical character recognition function like Tesseract. The app interface will allow the user to select the camera view to photograph labels on equipment (typically 3 per item), then the OCR will recognise the text on the labels, the review screen of the app will overlay a suggestion of which fields each bit of text may belong to and will provide the user the opportunity to swap the fields and correct any OCR mistakes. Then the app transfers the data and the image to a local MySQL database. The app also has a facility to review previously saved data and the corresponding image. The app should be written such that the functionality can be later integrated into our own Cordova inspection app.
