Barcode Scanner Application-Upgrade for serial scanner

Project: Barcode Scanner Application Platform: C# / VB Description of Project: We have a .net barcode scanner application, which is used by our customers. This works with USB scanner, Serial RS232 scanner. We have existing software that does the below things, we need some upgrade to this product. The application is able to read a barcode from a scanner that is connected to the system via a USB or Serial port scanner (RS232). The barcode read is forwarded to a URL via an HTTP POST/GET request. The response from the HTTP request , is shown using a unobtrusive alert at the bottom right( like a little popup , example a mail alert in Outlook). We have 3 issues to solve in this When scanned we should give a beep sound. USB barcode scanner should should only print data out based on the response send. Serial scanner should add a enter key at the end based on the response. Following are the release details for the application: Serial scanner doesn't work in the shop module (Critical) After a few scans, its adding attendance twice for a single scan (Critical) Scans into documents, emails etc - this shouldn't happen (Critical) When something was scanned, if that data is available on database it should display a popup asking you want proceed or not. Ability to automatically open the application once Smile application is open Basic configurations should be done at the time of installation The serial scanners we currently have in the network are: Datalogic PSC6000 plus, Metrologic scanners such as Voyager, Fusion. All the above specifications should work for both USB and serial scanners. Release 1: Spec 1, 2 and 3 Release 2: Spec 4, 5 and 6
