Current Events Platform

Seeking to develop a web platform for a current events initiative for middle and high school students in the United States. The platform must: 1. Include a participant registry that maintains the privacy of participants by using the latest technology and preferably assigns a "code" to a participant which links to a database that is hosted elsewhere; 2. Include a points tracker/registry analagous to AMEX Membership Rewards with real-time points balance by participant with the ability to print out statements and reflect award redemptions; Points tracker/registry must have a group level to identify participants by school or other group so as to have group contests and track points by group as well as individual and issue group points statements as well. 3. Awards library or registry listing all participating firms offering awards and the points needed for the applicable award - only registered users/participants can access the award registry; 4. Allow redemption of rewards and the generation on the fly of an Award certificate and date-stamping this award in the participant's profile and the award registry to there is a real-time as well as historical records; Must be able to run reports with various criteria. 5. Current events articles library - with current/featured stories by participant level (may have 2 or 3 age categories) and archived articles 6. Article advisory committee log-in to portal to view potential articles - potentially with Skype or Adobe Connect plug-in - and vote for their preferred ones. 7. Home page of site will be clean and youthful (possibly incorporating an Vhost) and content rich without being too cluttered and confusing, including "photos of the week" and potentially "quote of the week". Must be built with maximum flexibility so as to allow the deployment of new features and adjust the award levels and group contests.
