But yes few thing I want to discuss about it and wanted to know something about your server because some servers may not send more than X number of emails in a day. I think i will setup this using cron job. And then add the command to run the executable program (php) and make the file .php as the parameter to send bulk of email. If the data is in database, the datas can fetch from database and then send through email.

A couple of ways to do this .. 1) buy ready newsletter from online service providers (they charge by numbers of mail basis sent) 2) setup a mail server using a small linux vps and send the email to the client using a shell script.. 3) use a linux mail server + web based mailing list (will require more time) but in the long run better scalability
