We have home page in Wordpress PHP template with MySQL db (already exists on EC2 and RDS). We have web application coded in Node.js with MySQL db (currently on AppFog). I would like to move the node.js web app to AWS as well - not using Elastic BeanStalk Services - no PaaS please. On Amazon, it has to be fully installed and configured using EC2 instances (not Elastic BeanStalk) - very important. This means that you have to use something like npm supervisor or forever to keep node server on (always even when it goes down). Also, domain will be same for both so need to use some sort of proxy like nginx and so on to route for two different servers. This needs to be done in less than 2 days.

I always use nginx as a reverse proxy to server my node apps. To keep your app always running I would suggest pm2 it replaces forever and it's a really active project. This can be done in 2 days at max. To run your servers permanently you can run your node servers on a particular port and add them in services. I am hoping that you have a ubuntu machine (or similar flavour of linux)
