Detect when other chat user is typing

How is the front-end implemented, presumably there is Javascript already there, is it built on a library or all built from the ground up? Also presuming this is via a server as you said MySQL. What level of "user is typing" are you thinking of here? Is it just "something in text box and keys are being pressed every so often?"

Hi, I can write script for your typing detection. I will follow the steps: 1. Fire an Ajax request when chat partner enter text and then store into database. Possible in chat table 2. Pull up chat typing status to other partner and show typing status. 3. I may need to create few fields in chat table or new table I am ready to start work now and will complete within one day. Hi, I'm a Spanish Web Engineer. I can add the functionality to your chat, but it depends largely on your current implementation. I mean, if it is in real-time (like using websockets or pusher) it's very easy. If it is not, and it is using pull after some seconds, then it would be trickier, because you have to sabe in the server that 'X' is writing until Y's chat requests an update...
