Hello and thanks for looking at our posting
We want someone to create some crawlers/spiders for specific purposes. At this stage we do NOT want people to bid on price, but to give an indication within their posting of what price for each element. This will help us to formulate what we need and then we will ask for bidding on each item.
PLEASE NOTE: Do not bid on this project if you cannot DEMONSTRATE that you have done crawlers/spiders before. It is a complex area and we will only work with people who have a track record of doing it
What we need:
RSS / News Feed crawler
------------------------
This crawler will search the internet for RSS feeds. Ideally we want something that will bring in feeds so that we ultimately can display them like news.google.com. This pricing is NOT for the web development, but only for crawling to find the feeds that and creating a database of links
Forum crawler
--------------
I understand that crawling forums can be difficult because of the different programming languages that have created them. I want a generic crawler that will overcome any obstacles and that will crawl the forums for specific words.
Newsgroup crawler
------------------
To get a list of newsgroups and then to crawl them all. I'm not sure how much this entails in terms of bandwidth or how to get the list of newsgroups, so need some advice here
Maybe the above can all be done with one crawler with a config file? I don't know
Some important notes:
1) The crawler must be very very fast to cope with the above and probably multi-threaded. Would need notes on this
2) It needs to be able to run on a Linux server and using a mysql database
Please remember to price the above individually
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.

Linux or FreeBSD - will take suggestions on these two
