Using data from an Access 2000 database I need created the ASCII file for transmission to the Social Security Administration for reporting of year end W-2 earnings and information.
All formatting for the file is per the Social Security Administration booklet entitled "Magnetic Media Reporting and Electronic Filing(MMREF-1) for tax year 2004.
This app will then have to be incorporated into an existing VB6 app, that prints the paper W-2's, as a separate module.
I would especially like to hear from someone who is familiar with this reporting and the constructing of the file.
Upon completion, testing with the SSA to confirm a good file is mandatory.
