Since I changed my hosting to a dedicated server I am having issues with a lag problem on my website.
I am looking for a web developer that has knowledge of Coldfusion and web servers. This bid request is
to get the lag issue fixed so that restarting the coldfusion service is not needed to stop the lag.
## Deliverables
I recently purchased a dedicated server to host my website lukebouman.com. There is
only one other website on the server and that is greenhappenshere.com.
?
Every few hours, I notice the CPU usage increases dramatically to over 50%. The JRun
server is what is causing the CPU usage to be so high.
?
If I restart the coldfusion 8 application server under services the server will run smoothly
for a few hours. However, I have to keep restarting the service every couple hours or
the problem reoccurs.
?
I emailed the support at my hosting service and they said the following:
?
"it could be due to non-closed locks and an overload of session variables, both of which can cause memory
overusage. are you using alot of session variables not enclosed in session locks? yes, you can set up a scheduled
task to restart the service as often as you'd like, but the solution should be to fix the code to prevent it from
happening. restarting the service will cause the site not to come up during the restart, and if it doesn't come back
up for some reason, then someone will have to manually start it"
?
My web developer told me that all session variables are being read and written in the [login to view URL] files on
my server. All session variables are enclosed in locks as well.
