Hi there,
Basically I am posting here as we require a special component / hardcore hack for Mambo CMS ([login to view URL]). Basically what we require is search engine friendly urls which appear like this:
The standard mambo links look like:
With the Mambo SEF turned on - they look like:
However, this sort of link would need to be changed into something like:
Then for each download within this section, the link would need to be rewritten as such:
So on....
Basically any link or content item/blog item/category item must have the ability of having a link as above. We must be able to set this in the admin panel.
You will need expert experience with mod_rewrite and setting it up optimally for Mambo.
I don't care how you achieve this, if it requires hacking of the core that is fine, as long as you know what you have done and how to replicate it.
I will need to see a demonstration of this in place on a test site.
Please do not bid unless you are sure you can achieve what we need. We know this can be achieved, but may require some customising of the backend. To put it in a nutshell we want all of our links to be customised- in format above.
By the way, we don't want to use redirects - they must be rewritten i.e. no creating directories which have an [login to view URL] in them and redirect to the proper url. This is not acceptable. We need the ability to add content in the backend and for the new links to be applied to them.
Once you have finished, we wil need to do rigourous testing on it, to ensure it works perfectly okay.
If you do not know Mambo CMS - take a look at [login to view URL] and get accustomed to it. It is fairly easy to understand once you get reading the code. We have already made a few different hacks and they work perfectly.
Please download the latest version 4.5 1.07 as this is the version that we will be using.
If you successfully accomplish this task and are happy working with Mambo, we have at least 4 more Mambo-related projects that we need help on.
Warm Regards,
Maggie
