I need a website to let people meet each other who share a specific niche interest (I can't specify what that niche is here but it's not important). To use the site, you'd create a simple profile of yourself by filling out a form with several required fields (for example, height, age, and weight) plus an optional photo. One of those fields will be where you live. (We will use Craigslist's hierarchy of places to let people choose from a pull-down menu.) When you're done registering, your profile will immediately appear among others in your local area in a simple bulletin board-style format. No search functionality nor fancy graphics. It will be basic looking -- like Craigslist.
Anyone can browse and see who has registered. If you want to make contact with someone in your local area, you have to register -- otherwise, contact info is hidden. People's profiles should automatically come down after a specified amount of time, or earlier if they decide to pull them down sooner.
We want a standard registration flow -- fill out the profile and pay a fee (see below about how we intend to charge). You'll then receive an email with a link to confirm, preview, and go live with your profile. No usernames or passwords are required.
The site will also have a homepage with 2-3 flat informational pages with text we will supply that must be optimized for search engines. That's it. Basically just a sign-up, a bulletin board, and a payment step.
Designwise, we will need basic graphics (buttons, etc.) and a simple logo. The main thing we care about here is getting the functionality in place and looking clean.
Finally, we want to charge people to register. Therefore, we want to have an easy-to-implement system to accept credit cards (paypal, google checkout, etc.). This is a beta and we want to keep it light and inexpensive.
Timeframe for delivery: test version in one week (Jan 11th) and a live version by the following week.
