Community calendar design

The winning designer will have created the following: 1) calendar cover page 2) 12 x month page, one for each month 3) index page with thumbnails of all photographs and a couple of paragraphs of text What we have in mind is a decent, elegant, classic, high quality design. No extravagant, overly colorful or otherwise glaring ideas, please. Keep it simple, let the photographs do the job for themselves. However, simple doesn't mean low quality. The format is A3 (420 x 297 mm, 16.5 x 11.7 in), portrait, wire bound on the top short edge. We imagine the cover page as a full scale image, but we're happy to see if you can come up with a better idea. The only mandatory bit is the calendar title: Slovaks in Australia 2012 We'd like the image on each calendar page to take up as much space as possible, while still serving well as calendar. You will design a background, a frame around image, sensibly cut images to shape if needed. An unpretentious Slovak-Australian motif is a plus. So is color coding each page's style. The calendar is for the year 2012, one month per page. Remember, first day of week is Monday. The next year's calendar for reference: <[login to view URL]> The index page is the only to contain non-English text on it -- a few paragraphs in both English and Slovak languages. Most of the page is to be occupied by a simple grid of the cover image and the 12 month images with an English caption next to each. Please, do not bother to bid if you're not fluent in Adobe inDesign, if your rating is less than 9, your number of jobs is less than 10, if you fail to include word 'tomato' in your bid, or provide a link to extensive portfolio. Also, in the bid, include a detailed description of how you would carry out the job. We are happy to give you all the creative freedom, however, we need to be perfectly clear on what you're gonna deliver before we accept your bid. To give you a bit of a background, we've had the pictures shot by a professional photographer free of charge, and we're going to use professional offset printing at a very reasonable price. As a not-for-profit community project, we're striving to keep cost to a minimum, while delivering best possible quality. ## Deliverables Attached are low-res images that will be used for the calendar.
