I'm looking for a predictive model for individual player performance in basketball. I will provide a dataset (attached) consisting of player performance (minutes, points, field goals, three pointers, free throws, rebounds, steals, blocks) on the player-game level for several years of a particular league. The data also includes the date of the game, home/away, opponent, and the player's position.
For a high-quality, successful analysis, I am flexible as to the budget. You must be able to explain your methods and provide Python code to implement it.

The goal is to predict a player's pts1 in the next game so you can only use data available prior to that game. For example, if you want to use regression, you might use each player's average pts1. However you can only use the average up to (and not including) the date of the game. So effectively every player has an average pts1 for every date in the dataset.
For prediction the date, home/away, opponent, and position columns will be available but none of the others. For this prediction model it does not make sense to use data on tpm, fgm, etc for the same date. The goal is to predict the aggregate of these in the form pts1 = 3*tpm + 2*fgm + ftm + 1.2*reb + 1.5*ass + 2*blk + 2*stl - to.
