I have an extensive experience in Ruby on Rails while working with a high intensity startup and other consultation projects. I have a fairly clear idea of the problem you are having, but would still need to see the server configuration first. Also, to fix the issue, I'll need to be able to SSH into your server (or a non-production copy of your server). This sounds like an issue with the Ruby version on the server, I'd need access to the server to find out for sure. I'm available right now if you want to get this taken care of.
