Database project

This project consists of two phases: data modeling using E-R approach, design and implementation of a tutoring database. You should include the following entities: STUDENT, TUTOR, COURSE, SESSION, and REQUEST. You need to decide where should the following attributes belong: TutorHireDate, CourseName, CourseDescription, StudentEmail, StudentPhone, SessionDate, SessionTime, RequestDate, RequestStudentEmail, RequestStudentID, RequestStudentName. You may add to the entities any other reasonable attributes. Use the following information: • A tutor can tutor more than one course. A course can be tutored by more than one tutor. A tutor must be assigned to tutor at least one course, but a course may not necessarily be tutored by any tutor. • A student can enroll in many courses and one course can contain many students. • A session is used to define the tutoring sessions themselves. It needs a course and a tutor. However, not every session that is available will be taken by any student. • Request allows students to request tutoring in areas where it is not already provided. Your professor is anxious to see some progress on your database. I want your database to be in place by November 30, 2016. It is time to data model and design the tutoring database. To do 1. Define your entities, all attributes and identifiers. 2. Determine all relationships that exist between entities, describe their types, minimum and maximum cardinalities. 3. Create a logical model using crow’s foot notation in ERwin. 4. Add all the entities and their attributes. 5. Identify the key identifiers for each entity and the foreign keys. 6. Analyze the diagram. Have another student or a group review it for the following: Are all the major components of your model represented by domain entities? Does each entity contain the appropriate attributes to fully describe? Does every entity have an appropriate identifier defined? Are all many-to-many relationships resolved into one-to-many relationships by intersection tables? Is the appropriate entity is defined as the one side of a one-to-many relationship? Transform the diagram into a set of tables (design). Indicate primary keys and foreign keys. Create these tables on Oracle Database and insert at least five rows in each table.
