Fingerprint data file structure (.fpt) replication/duplication

I am trying to replicate a (.fpt) file format. The purpose is to find a way to create a new finger print set file ( a new .fpt file), which uses the same structure of an existing .fpt file. An API currently reads the .fpt file and if it does not find it in a suitable format, it returns an error. I have the .fpt format which is acceptable to the API. I have worked with Digital Persona and Sagem devices. I'm looking for someone who has good exposure to the fpt file structure.
