Beta Test a Search Engine

We need to have a commercial application beta-tested. The application is a search engine designed for use on a website or Intranet. The search engine itself is fairly stable, but we have a new beta release which includes a new easy-to-use graphical interface. We need to have multiple individuals 1) find bugs, and 2) give us feedback on usability/design issues. The tester must perform the following tasks: 1. Download and install the software 2. Perform a task on every form in the application. There are approximately 25 forms. 3. Create or find the following types of data and add it to a full-text index using our graphical interface: - MS Word and PDF documents on disk - A small website - Some XML - A database of any type. You'll have to have a JDBC driver for it. You need to generate your own data. 4. Search the data for sample terms/phrases. We intend to select 3-5 bidders to do this work. The bidder that finds the most bugs or has the best suggestions will get a $50 bonus. (The selection will be solely at our discretion). There are at least five known bugs in the application and you'll have to find them to be eligible for the bonus. We'd like to select at least one Mac user. ## Deliverables Deliverables: 1) Send us the data you indexed. 2) Report any bugs. You must report specific error messages or be specific about how the app failed. Also, you must report the specific steps you took that generated the bug. 3) Report any suggestions for improving the interface. We're particularly interested in anything that confused you or you think would make the interface easier to use. 4) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform It's a cross-platform app
