Florida Specific Legal Practice and Procedure Manual to be created from existing guides and same to be copywrited. These completed materials are to then be turned into an Ebook. I will also need a simple download site with credit card capability to be built to market the manual in hard copy or as an ebook. The project has as its origins a series of self help legal guides which are fairly well done but which can be vastly improved. While public law cannot be copywrited I believe that the content and commentary perhaps can be. This is why a basic "rewrite" is important with special care being given to not alter meaning while at the same time altering form where appropriate. The legal research is good but needs to be made more current. The research easily updated using Lexus or Westlaw or other appropriate legal research subscription. Lois law or other subscription may be used. Most citations are to the Southern Reporter. I have attached also Florida uniform citation system for your your use. Legal citations for Florida are commonly cited like this: Wright v. State, 608 So.2d 912 (Fla. 3d DCA 1992). You can locate this case in less sophisticated legal subscriptions by utilizing this boolean search in a Florida cases database: "608 +5 912" This search will pull all cases where the volume number (608) appears within 5 characters (So.2d) of the page number in the volume where the case can be found (912). While this simple method can find all cases which cite the Wright case it cannot tell you anything more. This is why Westlaw or Lexis are suggested for this project. I have attached a proposed table of contents for the new manual. The guides will have to adapted to meet the proposed table of contents so as to comprise a complete and unified self help manual. I would suggest reformatting the existing guides, joining them into a unified document, and then reorganizeing them around the proposed table of contents. I do not like the existing format of the guides but I am open to suggestions on how to make the project read nicely. There should also be an appendix of forms corresponding to the chapters of the manual to be written. Again, only those with Westlaw, Lexis, or other appropriate legal research subscription should bid. The estimated length of this project is approximately 300 pages.
