50-60 page book - Sensory processing strategies for schools

Hi I am after a 50-60 page book to assist early childhood / primary school teachers to settle children when over aroused using sensory based strategies. I am an Occupational Therapist working in child and adolescent mental health with part of my work based in schools. I have really enjoyed doing sensory profile assessments of children and have realized there is a need for resources to assist teachers become confident in knowing what to do when a child escalates. The reasons why children escalate are varied though one variable remains the same - their nervous system becomes over aroused. Sensory based strategies are used to help children settle. e.g. heavy blanket, tent, quiet space, rocking chair, deep pressure etc There are many behavioral based resources out there to assist teachers when a child escalate. I want to develop the best book there is (world wide) to assist school teachers understand ways to calming children when overwhelmed (i.e. nervous system over aroused). I want every school in Australia to have a copy of this book. I want this book to be distributed through the Australian education system so the content NEEDS to be credible i.e. journals, research articles, professionals in the field. Key word: sensory processing sensory integration Sensory rooms sensory modulation The book needs to: - be easy to read - needs to speak to teachers who are struggling to know what else they to do with children when they escalate in the class room - Plenty of stories that teachers can relate to - practical tips and strategies - key word being PRACTICAL!! - Credible content i.e. need all sources of information referenced and lots of it. This project will require ongoing work between yourself and I until book is completed. Thus I'll be editor - This project requires you to research and write this book. - I will reserve all rights to this book following completion. Table of contents: - Definition of Sensory processing / sensory integration theory - sensory input that calms the nervous system - sensory input that stimulates nervous system - practical strategies teachers can use to calm children within a school setting when their nervous system become over aroused in this section you may want to discuss sensory rooms, equipment to assist in this process That's an overview for now.
