Application works reasonably well on a Windows 7 machine, but fails in Windows 8 (application hangs up). The application acquires data from, and controls, two scientific instruments. We need an application that works seamlessly in Windows 8. We think the problem may come from using Builder 2009 rather than a more recent version.

Hi. I can migrate your code to Embarcadero XE8. As you mention, the older C++ Builder 2009 does not work well in newer O.S. The main reason for not work well is that C++ Builder 2009 compiles a 32 bits code, instead of the 64 bit as XE4 to XE8 does. I have 12+ years developing in Borland/CodeGear/Embarcadero technologies.
