One of the past projects I worked on used a SQLite database to run each level. For instance, it stored the level's speed, the number of enemies of a specific type to spawn, level score multiplayer, etc. On another project, I used a database for localization. An entry would be called something like _Score. In the game's code, it would detect which language to use at launch and when it ran something that used _Score, it would display in the correct language.

Hiya, I'm a unity developer currently working full time in a game company. I'v done 9 projects with Unity, and I have experience with MySql database with Unity. I'v done games for PC, PS vita, PS4, XboxOne and mobile, so platform wise it won't be a problem at all. If it's just getting and pushing data from/to the database, that should be fairly easy. If you want to use the data to do certain things, I think that should be straight forward as well. Depends on how complex you want the choice logic to be, It could take slightly shorter or longer.
