## Deliverables
**The following information gives a little more detail on the subject and some locations where you can research.
**Wind Mitigation research
Wind mitigation is a process of upgrading existing buildings with respect to roofing materials and openings in the buildings doors and windows so the property can withstand windstorm damage.
Went into effect Oct 1, 2007, because of the damage caused by hurricanes in 2004, 2005. We had a lot of damage on older buildings and the insurance company is interested in making the older buildings update. So wind mitigation requires that when you replace a roof or building of $300k or more you have to upgrade to the current building code and mitigate for wind protection.
Mitigation means bring it up to current code: correct a problem. That reduces risk and exposure.

Chapter 553.844, Florida Statutes
That applies when you are doing any activity that is going to cost $50k or more for opening protections for the insured value of $750k or more.
