We are a group of cousins launching a jewellery brand and we need someone to help us with our website. We strongly believe in the Lean Startup model and have taken on a DIY approach to come up with our website V1/MVP, using Squarespace to create it. We've iterated quite a bit to come up with right information structure. We used a template provided by Squarespace and played a bit with HTML, CSS and some JavaScript to customize a few things. We've done a few pretty hacky things - but the purpose was really to clarify what the end product should be like. We're now happy with our website in terms of content and information flow. We need someone to help us improve it. We need to make it look gorgeous. We'd love to hear from you IF: 1 - You are a great UI designer who loves simplicity, and you can help us make our website look beautiful. Since we are in the very early stages of our project, our positioning in terms of branding still remains pretty open ended. Therefore, we'd favour simplicity and purity over strong aesthetic choices. We don't need a full revamp/visual concept. We need someone who can work on the basis of what we have. That being said, we are looking for someone who has an excellent eye and can come up with just the right meaningful adjustements that will make our website look really sleek and modern. OR 2 - You are a great developer who'd be able to implement design changes made by the aforementioned designer. You are familiar with Squarespace and the messy/hacky tricks it can contain, or at least you don't mind working with that. OR 3 - You combine both design and development skills. You can identify in both 1 and 2 (see above). As you can see, we're pretty open in terms of how to get this done - whether by working with two people with complementary skills (design vs. development) or by finding one person that would possess both skill sets. It'll depend on the profiles we find. Naturally, the budget will also be adapted depending on this. As mentioned, this is only an MVP, therefore depending on how things turn out, we may also consider turning this into a longer term arrangement.
